As the parent of a child with ASD, I have been attempting to find providers that offer services to my child. I currently spend a lot of time online searching the web, searching support groups, asking friends, and any other avenues to find providers. Our Kindergarten exams last year were particularly time consuming. My friends with children starting Kindergarten next year are already complaining about how time consuming it is to find providers.
Thus Illinois Spectrum Connection was born. A "one-stop-shop" for parents to find providers and ASD friendly places. Cutting down the time spent searching the Internet. All providers are in one place. The information for this web site is posted on various support groups in the Chicagoland Area, with informational flyers going out to all special needs parents in Plainfield District 202, Glen Ellyn District 41, Networking Pages on Facebook and Twitter, as well as press releases, the potential for parents to see this site is fabulous!
I only wish this site had existed 3 years ago when we started out on this "adventure", it would have saved a lot of heartache and time.
If you are a provider reading this, please consider posting your information here, if you are a parent, welcome, we hope you find what you need!
